Elective Module in Sanctuary for Yoga's 300 Hour Training  or
Yoga Alliance CEUs  (24 hours)

Through the use of the chakras as a foundation of change, we will explore how nature infuses and integrates the internal quality of our energy centers.  Via asana, meditation, pranayama, chanting, and journaling practices, we will gain a better understanding of ourselves and how connecting with nature can guide us to deeper levels of personal change.

Day 1
5:30pm - Meet, Greet and Be Happy

Day 2 | Muladhara, Earth Sadhana
6:30 - 7:30am - Morning Yoga
5:00 - 6:30pm - Evening Yoga

Connecting with the earth is a vital and practical essential for the urban yogi and yogini.  In this session we will explore this connection through the havana (feelings) of grounding and stabilizing the body.  We will relate to our inherent connection to the earth through standing poses, forward bends, and hip openers which emphasize stillness, stability, and the “grounding force” of apana vayu.

Day 3 | Vogāphicātion - Spontaneous Authentic Posing
At spontaneous points in the day, we may find moments, as Madonna said, “to strike a pose.”  It may be as a group, it may be solo for a socially cool yoga picture, it may be dancing in the river, or simply doing nadi shodhana.  Regardless, it is a day of having adventure and letting your inner nature meld with the outer nature of the jungle and embracing your inner monkey.

While in transit to our Caving or Canoeing adventure, we will have story time about the most dynamic and mischievous character of the Ramayana, Hanuman.  The stories shared will help infuse a sense of adventure, enthusiasm and a childlike curiosity for the world around us.  Jai Hanuman!

8:30pm-10:00pm - Optional Yoga Discussion on Hanuman

Day 4 | Svadhisthana, Water Sadhana

6:30 - 7:30am - Morning Yoga
5:00 - 6:30pm - Evening Yoga
Water is the core element of every individual.  It flows through every cell, vessel and space within our bodies.  Connecting this understanding with our practice of yoga allows us to dive deeper by utilizing the underlying, undulating wave motion of water.  Through fluid vinyasa sequences and the grounding force of apana vayu, we will explore our own strength and fluid nature.

Day 5 | Manipura, Fire Sadhana
6:30 - 7:30am - Morning Yoga
5:00 - 6:30pm - Evening Yoga

Tapas, the energy of Transformation, is the guiding force of this practice.  Embracing the essence of agni (fire) ignites the flames within.  Through kriyas, powerful standing poses, and arm balances, we will build and inspire the radiant energy in our lives.  By connecting with manipura chakra, you will come into your own power center and access the seat of personal change.

Day 6  | Anahata, Heart Sadhana
6:30 - 7:30am - Morning Yoga
5:00 - 6:30pm - Evening Yoga

Stand in the seed of the heart, hridaya - our greatest teacher.  In this practice we will cultivated wave motion to open the heart and prepare the body for deeper back bends and twists.

Day 7 | Vissuddha / Anja / Sahasrara, Inner Voice Sadhana

6:30 - 7:30am - Morning Yoga
5:00 - 6:30pm - Evening Yoga
Hear the truth, speak the truth, and tell the ego to ‘shut up and enjoy the ride’ while we grow our budding inter-relationship with ourselves.  Through shoulder stand, head stand, and chanting, we will nurture and enliven our true voice.

Day 8
- If you can, get up extra early by chanting to the sunrise or making an offering to Mother Earth, by walking in the ocean and offer Pranams, prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving, for all the bounty in your life.
